Well it looks like I might be keeping my Alfa, so I'm planning to ditch the phone dials for some wheels that can hold modern rubber. I'm looking for a set of 4x108 wheels that are either 15" or 16", between 7" and 8" wide, and have an offset in the range of 15-30. Anybody have some?

Look at Ford Focus wheels w/ spacers. 17x7 is common.

Porsche 924's and old Audi's used the same pattern as well (though many came with 14's and 15's back in the day, there are some 16's and 17's around).

Don't forget that 4x108 very nearly equals 4x4.25 so 4-bolt Mustang wheels can work as well (provided the offset works for your situation)

The problem is that 100% of the wheels I can find for a Focus are totally not fitting for an Alfa Romeo, and 17's just plain look ridiculous. I'm hoping to find something decent from an older VW/Audi, Volvo, or other Alfa.

I have found a few sets of Fox body wheels that are exactly what I'm looking for style wise, but the offset is usually too low (anything lower than 20mm on an 8" wheel is a no-go).

Worst case scenario I will just plunk down for a set or Rota RBs, but I don't think the look quite works with the S3 Spider bodystyle. I know there are some cool old-school 4x108 wheels out there, I just have to find them...

Those are 15x6...would basically be swapping out my stock wheels for an identical set. I need something at least 7" wide to make this worthwhile.

Oh right forgot about that. It was the stupid phone dials that were 7" sigh...

BTW, lots of 4x4.25" 15x7-10" wheels available online (eBay, etc) they just aren't terribly stylish, but completely functional.

Yeah, I know there are options out there. I just want to stick with a period look, if possible - something like those BBS I linked earlier. I might have to venture into the black hole that is StanceWorks...or just give up and buy some Rota RBs.

Most 15-inch Saab 9000 wheels that were sold in their accessories catalog were 7 inches wide, with a 25 to 27 mm offset. Some of these wheels weren't Saab-only; there is a BBS, for example.

Go to the link below and look for 15x7s:

4x108 IS 4-on-4.25. The terms are interchangeable. 108mm is just a fancy way of saying 4.25 for people who are so married to Metric that they won't use the bolt pattern's original measurement. (I'm lightly kidding, but this is heavily true for brake sizing, which for the longest time - possibly even today - is all 3/4" / 13/16" / 7/8" / 15/16" just like when the English developed them decades ago, but they're given weird Metric dimensions like 22.22mm)

Find thee some cheap Mustang 10-hole wheels. 25mm offset, 15x7, the price is usually right. Not sure how wide the later 16" wheels are.

I am not a huge fan of the 10-hole look, but it has been done on Alfas before (not a Spider, though). They will be what I get if I can't find a neat set of period aftermarkets. The 16" Ponys just look wrong, and are HEAVY.

the merkur's were also 4x108. . . there is a set of factory mesh wheels on one at a yard near by that have been on my mind lately
