I am selling my LT1 T-56 trans for $700. The catch is that I'm making you buy my 91 Camaro RS with it. My brother did the swap about 3 years ago using a factory replacement clutch and flywheel. If you want to use this trans with a LS1 engine, you will need to use a different bellhousing, etc. It's much better to use this with a 350 SBC engine or LT1. The Camaro doesn't run so I can't move it to get a picture of the T-56. The Camaro is in really rough shape, the clear coat is peeling, the tach and speedometer doesn't work, the T-tops leak, the dashboard is really beat up, etc. I do have a couple pics of the Camaro, however. I don't have the title for the Camaro so it's strictly a race car. I will upload pics when photobucket is working. If you want to use it as a race car or a $2015 Challenge car, I will give you more info on it, including performance parts and a couple of extras to go with the car.
In reply to Mr_Clutch42 Where is the car located? That is a good price for the trans and I could use the LT1 for a challenge build.
don,
from what i understand it's just the trans from behind an lt1, not an lt1 too. and his profile says north carolina. in his garage it says the car has a tbi 305 and t56
FYI mr clutch, if you pull the trans and sell it separate from the car, you'll get about $900 more out of the two.
Seems like a great start to a crapcan racer!!
Why do you tempt me. Especially when im broke.
Ill trade you a brand new holley, a weiand intake, a blowed up 350, and a 4x8 tilt seck trailer...
I'm a college student that has a fairly large workload, so I probably can't separate them until the semester is over if needed. E-mail me at homer23422000@yahoo.com. The car is in rough shape, so I can't and won't command much money for it. IMO, these cars are getting overpriced.
The engine is a 305 Tbi. My location is in eastern North Carolina.
You stated it "doesn't run" do you know what the problem is?
This is a very good start to a challenge build. You can toss a 350 in there cheap and spend the rest on chassis work.
Very tempting I really could use the trans and have evil thoughts for the car but its pretty far from me (central Ohio) and I am pinched for time. Someone should pick this up it is a good deal for just the trans and worst case you could scrap the car.
To a guy from Michigan that's a pretty solid looking roller.
How hard would it be to get the Title? I.e. is it in your brother's name? (easy)
in someone elses? (hard).
Since my brother's being a jackass (it's technically his), it's actually difficult in NC. I can call the DMV theft dept. about an abandoned car, and that's about it.
