I was thinking tube chassis with Elise geometery up front using Miata parts, mid engined honda FWD platform using the whole suspension & control arm assys tucked under the hatch but that might be a little ambitious given the state of the race car that needs to be fully reliable by March.
If it is really rot free though I will almost have to snatch it up.

Rover V8s and Ford 289/302s fit with off the shelf parts. Chevy 60 degree V6s are pretty much bolt in at this point too.
Or you can do crazy things like GPS is planning.
I don't klnow what the Snorkelwhacker is up to, but I have a 340 hp supercharged V6 from a Supercoupe.
