I used to ride a motorcycle. I married a nurse. I don't ride a motorcycle anymore, but I still have motorcycle gear. Once upon a time, I was hoping she would relent, but now we have a kid. No relenting. So anyone need some awesome riding gear? All this stuff was used for less than 2 years, and ~500 miles total on anything. Never went down, all of it is in near perfect shape. Bonus cat hair on some items. I'm 6'4", ~180 lbs. Fit me well with room everywhere. Prices are OBO, shipping can be negotiated from Dayton, OH, and if you want more than one item we can certainly work with that on pricing, etc. If you'd rather email me, send emails to apexallthings at the mail of g dot com.

First, a Triumph branded vented jacket. Armored, on the shoulders and elbows, vents everywhere to keep you cool in hot weather (so you'll wear the gear, darn kids!) and has a weather liner (wind and rain "proof"). $100

Matching pants to the above jacket, also vented, but without a liner. Don't believe they every had one. $75

My "cold weather" jacket. Not really for that, but it's thick, and not vented, and I lived in the south when I was riding. It's really a great looking jacket, also armored. $125

I have a helmet. I never really liked it, but it fit my noggin just fine. A random scuff or two from being moved a few times, DOT SNELL rated, has open/close vents, too. KBC Dark series. Shiny red parts. Bug guts included for authenticity. $50. Gloves also available, from left to right, winter gloves with padding for armor, matching triumph vented gloves for the pants/jacket above with hard armor knuckles, and hard armored winter gloves. Make offer, or what not.

This thing, needed for visibility and riding onto a military base. It's pretty sweet, though. $25

Update:

Helmet size is L, 59-60 cm. M2005, And says "Force Large Shell" inside.

The gloves, from left to right, are:

SOLD! - Fieldsheer, fleece lined, padded, size XL

Triumph vented armored gloves, Teramid brand, size XXL (US XL??) - free with purchase of the matching jacket and pants ($150 for all three!)

SOLD! - Olympia armored gloves, Thinsulate fleece lined, size XL.

Found original purchase price on the gear. The pants were $180, the vented jacket was $229, the classic awesomeness jacket was $299. This was many moons ago.

I have some BMW riding boots, with armored ankles, rather inflexible (as they should be) in male size 12 (my foot is exactly 12" from heel to the end of my toes, if that helps) that are...somewhere here. They are awesome boots, paid $150 for them back in the day, I wasn't messing around. I will be looking for those, let me know if there's interest.

Never understood the Dr. or nurse thing about motorcycles. Especially since we race here, or a lot of us. I've been riding for 36 years. Never been down. If you dress properly, ride intelligently and ride a capable bike it really isn't that dangerous. Unfortunately, in my area I consider riding intelligently to include not riding during rush hour. Best of luck but talk to the wife.

It's true, and I could ride if I still wanted to and pushed the issue. But she lets me race, so I took that compromise. No big deal for me, really. Other than having stuff lying around!

If you're cool with it, its all that counts. My wife is cool with my riding as long as I dress properly and don't ride in heavy traffic. I can, however, take the Duc up to Summit Point too.

You may want to include sizes on gloves and helmet; along with make/model on helmet and maybe even your head circumference. Helmets are so personal with fit. Oh and is it m2000 or m2005?

In reply to markwemple:

That seems rather personal...

The helmet is a large, and I think the gloves are all large, too, but I will check all this and update when I get home today. Pretty sure it's m2005 considering when I bought it, but will also update on that.

Will do! I have giant hands, so it's possible they are XL.

If I buy all this stuff, will I become 6' 4" and 180#? If so, I am VERY interested!

I can't see any reason why that wouldn't work out that way, reasonably...

I'm already 6'4". Would love to drop 20#s and get back to 180.

I am quite interested in the winter gloves. If you can check the brand and size, I can check their size chart to see if the fit would be okay should they not be the right size for Grtechguy.

Some stuff has come up and I will have to pass on the gloves for now. Good price though!

I don't have a motorcycle yet, but I'm buying gear first. I'm interested in at least the winter gloves on the left. I may also buy both pairs of winter gloves off you just because. I sent you an e-mail.

Too bad about your wife not letting you ride. I can understand it since we're a big country of trucks and suvs, we don't need to ride motorcycles like in small countries.

It's ok. I learned, I had my fun. A lot of fun! He big issue is not me riding, but how stupid most drivers are. No big. Now I'm trying to convince her that the Miata is actually not a deathtrap, though...

I would personally buy the Miata and tell her that it will be fine, but I'm not married. Or, you can say that your alternate is a slightly bigger FC RX-7.

In reply to Mr_Clutch42:

Well, she's ok with it in the sense of safety, obviously, since she's fine if I want an MGB, Spitfire, or Fiat Spider. But she doesn't like how they look. I may just buy it anyway, tell her I can build a sweet lotus 7 out of it later.

Do the pants have armor? Are they waterproof?

Hey!

The pants are fully armored, but they were my Georgia riding pants, so I got the vented ones. They are not waterproof. I though thtey had a liner, but looking back on it I think I was thinking about the jacket, which does have a liner and it is waterproof.
