this is mine, I still want to build a challenge car but the difficulties in making this car competitive at the challenge are all but insurmountable (for me, not for a lot of you)
I plan on buying another one eventually to do up right but this one is just too incomplete and frustrating for me to deal with right now.
I like everything, so trades should be easy to find.
grm price is $600 as it is, or trade for something cool (grm definition of cool, not the public opinion of cool necessarily lol) that I can build for the challenge.
I realized this car is definitely not good "first project car" material, but it still has a hell of a lot of potential, and I love these things. alot.
I and my teammate have a lot more experience with rotaries, miatas, and more modern drivelines.
Got a legacy wagon in horrible shape? I'll take it!
aw11 mr2 not running? fine!
ef or eg hatch? suuuuure!
sa or fc? I'm down. Same goes for NA miatas, old bimmers, etc etc.
French pieces of automotive acid indigestion? I'll think about it. lol
Old brits, old 'merican, foxbodys, superturds, neat things. I like it all.
If this doesn't go through I will probably end up polybushing the whole car, buying a diff and fg front end, making a grille, and running it with the l24 for an 18 second quarter mile. lol
edit: also like f2t cars. just so it's out there.
Cory, your car is a bit too much of a project for me, but please, tell me about that Duster in the background?
Also, just get this running and come rallycross with us. A guy with a fast MR2 drives out to our events from Hickory all the time

lol that Duster belongs to Dusterbd on this forum. It is absolutely gorgeous.
Since I just found a shell for $200 with an r200 and an l28 in it already I'm probably gonna take it off craigslist and work with it lol.
I'd love to rallycross it, what region/scca/nasa/thscc/whatever are you running with and whereabouts do you run?
We've been running in Wilson (a bit of a drive) because the fairgrounds there let us have some really fast courses without destroying our cars.
November 4th is the next event. As I've said to everyone, if you show up and say you're GRM, I'll give you a ride in the Forester.
I've debated trying a 280Z for rallycross or something. I also know where there is a complete 1982ish or so Maxima I can probably get for $500, but the small wheels kind of throw me off on that.

hmmmm is this through tarheel sports car club?
I'm going to go through the suspension tomorrow and get everything checked out and tightened back down, if the guy on craigslist with the $200 shell w/diff and l28 ever writes me back I'll get a diff, then I'll only be missing a battery, belts, rad, and windshield to be ready to go!
Yep, Tarheel Sports Car Club.

awesome, I've looked into them alot. I'll hopefully be ready to go for 2013 season at least lol
ad on cl is undeleted, apparently it also needs every single piece of the brake system to be replaced as well, unless rotors are supposed to be made of 100% rust.
So I will sell it for $500 GRM price only, so I can get something that will take less time, money, and effort to get up to speed and run at the challenge
Yeah, a couple things have come up and if this doesn't get traded for jhaas' aw11, or sold here in the next few days, it shall be scrapped and parted.
