This is not for a challenge car this is for a fellow member on the FC3s list that I know. With out getting in to the details he has failing health and will loose the ability to drive all together in the not so distant future. He would like to convert his RX7 over to hand controls so he can get out on the track again before he is not able to at all.
I have known Dale for many years. He helped me with my FC back in the 90's. An all around good guy in my book. Some one that would fit in the GRM world.
Anyway he is not looking for a freebe. The issue is sourcing one. They seem to be hard to come by.
The following is a copy of the email I got from him today.

I'm an incomplete quadriplegic now and I have a set of hand controls for the car and would like to spend one last day on the track before I'm totally bedridden or die. Whichever might come first. They didn't sell well to start. Slushboxes of that era worked best on large torquey engines that don't rev. I've seen a couple in the flesh over the years though.
This is a laudable project. Best of luck. I'll look through local resources and let you know if I see one. I wonder if a Miata box or a later RX box would retrofit.

I believe Dale is on the west coast now. I will ask him
If a FB trans will work in a FC and vice versa, I woudl think we could get an FC trans to work in an FB.
That being said, I don't have an SA,FB, or FC autotragic trans.
I will keep my eyes open for one.
