Blown HG, but that T56 is worth the asking price alone. Someone with time and space could make a few bucks here.

Meh, depends on how patient you are. Lt1s are not as desirable as say a year or 2 ago. Yea, cheaper than LS1, but I think if you pulled the motor and did the HG and cleaned it up you could sell it for maybe $2000. But with the t56, you can find an adapter plate and mate it to damn near anything. Unless you put that one in a LS1 car, then it would be the bellhousing, input shaft, and something else. So I guess its all in why you would buy it. I think if somene had a plan, it would be a steal. But if you plan on flipping it, I'd say you might make $500.
I had one of those for awhile - they are much harder to work on under the hood that you would ever expect. Not a whole lot of space in there, and the cowl extends over the back of the engine a decent distance. For the trans, though, it might be worth it.
Unfortunately the LT1 T56 is a bit of an orphan, I know because I have one.
The kit to convert it to the LS1-style input shaft is expensive, and if you don't convert you are stuck with the LT1-style pull-clutch and external hydraulics. Most of the aftermarket clutches and all hydraulic TOB's are for the LS1-style T56. I still plan on using mine behind an old-school SBC, but keep in mind that not all T56's are equally desirable.
