Special edition in this case is actually pretty impressive for the era.

I have for sale a 1990 beretta gtz it's 5 speed with the quad 4 as you can see in the pic I'm ask $1000 but the price is negotiable just need car gone. This would be a nice project for a good tuner the car still runs and the motor is still very strong bark tires from first to third gear... The car does need a starter was my daily driver until starter went out. If you have any questions hmu and I answer

The GTZ is rare. I spent a lot of time looking for one, sadly never saw one come up for sale.

I love Berettas, they were my favorite car back in the day!

The Quad 4 was the E36 M3 back then.

I was so close in buying a brand new Beretta GTZ back in late 1995. I decided to wait to place an order but I ended up ordering a 1996 Pontiac TA WS6 instead. I know that my Step Dad did not like the Quad 4 engine and was trying to steer me towards a car with a V8. I had a blast test driving it and the salesman let me keep the car over the weekend.

I think the Quad 4 is actually a pretty decent engine.

It's a buzzy, noisy, hard to work on turd that made 180hp from 2.3l in the GTZ (GTZ signified 5-speed, autos had a low power engine) at a time when the M3 had a 170ish HP 2.3l.

Also, the rest is standard Beretta, which is, clear of all sarcasm, a pretty crappy car.

The E30 M3 (US) had 192 hp. If you want to find out some Quad 4 info, do a search for the Oldmobile Aerotech.

Ever wonder what a Quad4 would have been like if the bumpstick was above the valves?

I saw some really fast versions in Midgets...

Inch for inch an Autocraft Vee Wee would smoke it though.

The cams are over the valves in a quad 4.

So GM's econobox motor was making similar power to the M3 then? I don't know why you would say they're hard to work on. They're pretty straightforward. I liked both the Q4 and the TC. They we're capable and easily modded.

I had a love hate relationship with my GTZ, I loved it until I cracked the head... Quad 4s are not cheap engines to randomly find. The temp gauge was a dummy at best, the car fully overheated and the needle barely moved off the normal zone.

He dropped the price to $600.

He answerd my email saying the interior was rough but everything else is fine. Anyone want to ride out there with me and s starter?

There is a white one of these near my work, I have no clue if it's for sale, but when I saw it I had to do a double take, I haven't seen a GTZ in a very long time.

The Quad 4 wasn't their econobox motor at that time. It was their hot 4.

The econobox motors were the SOHC 2.0 and the Iron Duke.

The Quad 4 wasn't demoted to econobox duty until the late 90's when it was detuned and balance shafted to about 145 hp to stick in the base model Grand Am and Achieva.
