Oh man. Those hold a special place in my heart. My Dad built two different street stock race cars out of these back in the early 90's for circle track. A Camaro of the same vintage was next to impossible to find back in southern WV around that time because they were all bought for circle track cars. These Novas could compete still. The picture is of Dad, brother, and yours truly in the batman shirt holding the helmet:
Oh, and bonus points for knowing the paint scheme on the car above. Hint: Dad painted a Ford paint scheme on a Chevy.

Looks like the Bill Idiot's Coors Light T-Bird paint job, from way back in the day. Cool picture man, thanks for sharing!

Ding ding ding. Winner! I actually had this diecast car as a kid and that's where we got the paint scheme from. Doesn't say Coors Light on it because it was a kids toy, I guess. Paint was a shade off, but we had a guy from the "pit crew" that painted cars and that car was spotless when he painted it. This was taken right before the race season of Dad's rookie career as a race car driver. The first season this car got beat to absolute E36 M3. It had a front subframe that had to be replaced after a head first collision with a barrier. Second season he rattle canned the car after the paint guy moved away. It didn't look quite as nice. About 7-8 years later a friend of ours bought the car and he said that only 3 wheels touched the ground when it was sitting level. Fun times, good memories as a kid. It's what sparked my gear head tendencies I guess. Late week nights watching and helping Dad wrench on this thing.
