A friend that was a farmer near Americus, Georgia had one. THat was the only one I've ever seen, but I have seen a diesel Escort.

I wonder if a turbo would fix that.

I don't think there's any way to fix Tempo.

There is, its called stuff a sho drivetrain in one. Used to make a damn quick for the era sedan.

A friend of mine had one of these in high school, I'm pretty sure everything imaginable was tried to kill it. Finally a really big jump over a railroad crossing bent the unibody. Still ran & drove, while dragging the floor in the middle.
