This seems like a REALLY good deal for the money. I know it's listed at $2500 but he says he's flexible and wants it to go to an enthusiast, so I'm betting this could be had for under $2000 by a GRM type. I'd be calling myself if I wasn't currently changing jobs...

Yep. Got the call from the guy I bought it from a week or so ago. I know what he paid for it..... It apparently still has 90+% of what I put on it. Hell, all but 2 of those pics are mine lol

Man, I'm tempted to hit eBay hard with a bunch of my crap and try to scrounge up enough cash to buy the damn thing. Just bad timing, as always. This stuff NEVER shows up when you're looking for it...

How competitive was that? Based on the decals you must have run some big events in it, how did it stack up against the CRX/Miatas?

It wasn't. At all. Great motor. Fun to drive. Drew a crowd everywhere it went. In fact, I was literally parked next to a 308 ferrari at the Speedway for the test session for hte Grand Prix back in 06(?) and there was no one looking at the 308, and 5 people gathered around hte Swift talking about it when I went to leave.

Car pushed like a pig in auto-x, the steering rack is too slow for slaloms (manual rack), gearing is horrific (super short 1st gear with a redline shift puts you down out of the power band in second), open diff hurts corner exit and the chassis is about as rigid as a wet noodle that has been overcooked. But dat engine yo.... fun as hell. Sounds like a miata that revs beyond a civic. With those valve springs and bottom end, that engine will safely spin to 10k.... 10,700 to be exact. IT makes no power past 9500..... but it'll keep spinning.

One vehicle I do not regret selling. I just wish I could put that engine into something like a 7.

Nah.... not with the Forte now in the Stable. It was a fun/neat car. I just remember getting passed by an SUV on the highway, having to look UP to see the door handle, then when it got in front of me I realized it wasn't an SUV at all but a Pontiac Vibe. It was at that point I realized that if I ever got into an accident in this thing at highway speeds, the wife could save money on a coffin because this thing would be my coffin.

I had a friend who was killed in a Geo Metro, got t-boned by a CRX. You aren't lying about the safety factor - or complete lack thereof - Bob.

But with a bike, you can throttle out and usually avoid issues. That just didnt happen with 100hp 1700lb car.
