Hello fellow GRM'ers...

I am selling part of my video game collection to help pay my way for my trip to the Challenge this year. I have up for sale a working Atari 2600. This one is actually the rarer Sears Telegames 6 switch unit. Back then, Sears sold re-branded video game systems with their own unique games, but all the regular Atari games work fine with it. Kinda like how GM badge-engineers cars.

Works great! Comes with console, power supply, 2 working joysticks, paddle controllers, a Star Raiders touch pad, and the following games:

-Space Attack

-Astroblast

-Lock N Chase

-Armor Ambush

-Pac Man

-Asteroids

-Swordquest: Earthworld

-Stampede

-Vanguard

-Superman (the one with no end label)

-Missile Command

-Pitfall!

-Berserk

-Circus Atari

-Steeplechase

-Demon Attack

-E.T.

-Defender

-Target Fun

-Star Raiders

-Combat

-Space Invaders

-Video Pinball

-Chopper Command

-Warlords

-Super Breakout

All games were tested by me and work great. All controllers work great as well. Only thing I do not have to include is a RF adapter. You can get a RF adapter off of eBay for a few bucks, and it will make it work on any TV with a coaxial input.

$65 or b/o, plus shipping

Here's some pics:

If anyone is interested in other gaming stuff, I also have a nice SNES I can part with, as well as a few Sega Genesis consoles. I'll have to dig them up though to get a price. Thanks for looking!

That is awesome. My neighbor growing up used to make pc boards with chip slots that allowed changing out the game chip. He would then copy games and resell them to us. You needed one pc boarded inserted into the console then you just changed out chips. He never could crack asteroid's code though to reproduce it. I will buy, but am waiting for my contracted summer job pay check which is due on Tuesday. How would you like to get paid? I assume I can use it on a modern digital television?

Ah, memories.

Those video game titles would work well for a game like this:

DEAR GOD WANT.

I would respectfully like to claim second dibs after vwcorvette.

One of my aunts had one of these and still regrets selling it. Would make for one hell of a Christmas present.

(I myself had a Colecovision and the Atari add-on box. And I miss that bugger too)

Nice! Any TV with a coaxial input would work with the connector they sell on eBay. I've hooked it up to a 50'' plasma before. Just tune to Channel 3 like the old days and you're golden. Paypal would probably be the easiest way. Shoot me a PM and we can work the deal out.

I found a place in Winthrop that sells those 72-pin connectors I told you about for about $9. It's called Sudden Impact Games. I thought I had a lot of stuff until I stepped into his store on Saturday.

Or you can snag one off of eBay too, they are around the same money.

As far as the Atari goes... maybe you could bring it over sometime and we can take a look at it? I've never cracked one open before.

I have a light sixer, a vader, and a 4 switch woody. I don't have a sunnyvale yet, or a Sears 6-er. This is good stuff right here.

Oh, I still have 2 other 2600's. I have another identical Telegames 6 switch complete with a really rare Atari hardshell travel case complete with instructions, and a 4 switch woody. I also have a complete working 5200 4- port with a bunch of games and two working controllers. And 2 boxed Intellivisions, a Colecovision, and a ton of other stuff. That stuff is not for sale though.

We might have to start a classic gaming thread in the Off Topic.

I have an Atari 2600 with some games that worked when I put it up in the attic. Also in the same box is an SNES with some games. Also in the same box is an original Pong game from the late 70's. They all work. Did turn down an Intelivision game system that my parents were giving away years ago, thought I had enough game systems. Not really looking to get rid of them but nice to know they still have value. Also have a box of old computer programs, mostly educational games. And a 486-33 computer, monitor and both a laser printer and 24-pin dot matrix printer that all work. The computer has DOS 6 w/Windows 3.1 installed. Did get rid of the TI-99 w/cassette drive I had though.

mostly with the old ataris i pull them apart, check the board for bad connections, re-solder if necessary, and spray the crap out of it with electronics cleaner. this works most of the time. i have hundreds of games and 3 or 4 systems.

never heard of demon attack, what's that like?

My collection includes an Atari 1200XL, a Commodore SuperPet, Commodore 64, TI 99/4A, Apple IIE, an original NES, every generation of PlayStation, and I think I still have my Sega Genesis. Sadly, I sold my original 6-switch 2600 and Atari 520ST many years ago.

Yeah, I've been a nerd for a LONG time.....

Sale pending to this guy.

I never realized how many of you here like video games. It gives the term GRM Form a whole new meaning.

Six switches are the best.....

But RF adapters are for the weak. I have modified three 2600 consoles now (2 six switches, one 4 switch) for RCA composite out. That way you can use your 30 year old video game system on your 52" tv. Combat! was never so good.

Mr. Heck's tutorial is pretty good: http://www.benheck.com/book/support/Atari2600VidMod.htm

If vwcorvette passes, I'll take it.

...and install it in my Challenge car!

We've been looking for a low budget game system.

Would a Sega Genesis be considered cool enough for a Challenge car? I have a few of those I can part with, LOL

When you PM on GRM, it usually goes to the email address you signed up with. I got it, and responded.

Demon Attack is a space shooter that is a lot like the game Phoenix, if you have ever played that. Waves of winged enemies attack you and you have to shoot them. The shooting is a lot like Galaxian where you can only shoot one shot at a time. It's actually pretty good!
