Edit, added some pics because I can now.

I'm going to thin the herd a bit. Recent life events have suggested to me that I my never get my current project list done, and I need to shorten it up some. Almost everything in Zip 57223. What I have available:

'67 Kadett 1.1l wagon. No engine or trans, leaf spring rear, interior trashed, some rust, clear title $300

'70 Kadett 1.9 auto wagon. Engine ran good but used a little oil and has been sitting long enough with no manifolds it's sure to be locked. Some rust under the doors and at the bottom of the front fenders. Interior savable but needs front seats. Clear title $500.

Another same as above, but stripped interior and all the rust damage cut out. Needs patch panels and most everything, Clear title $250.

'71 Kadett 1.1 manual sedan. Not bad for rust, trashed interior and no engine or trans. Clear title $250.

'69-ish Kadett 1.1 manual fastback coupe body shell. Savable from a rust standpoint, no suspension on either end, drive train, or interior. Clear title $150

'68-ish Kadett 1.5l auto sport sedan. Rare body, some dings and dents but not bad for rust. Complete 1.5 engine with the high compression head but trashed interior. No title $200

'72 Manta "blue max" 1.9 auto. Some dings and dents, need door cards and engine, small bumper with factory sunroof. Clear title $700.

'67 Admiral. Manual transmission car, originally a 2.8l CIH straight 6, now needs engine. Has Plexiglas rear window and interior is nice except for no carpet. Clear title $750.

I have dozens of cars worth of parts that can be available with any of these cars to get most of what you would need to finish any of them. I have 5-speeds, a CIH-6, fender flares, 2.2l crank and head, efi systems, and spares of almost everything. My trailer will carry two Opels at a time, and delivery may be possible. I don't have a lot of pictures now but can get them on request. I also have some drivetrain options available for sale with these as well: Toyota 5MGE, complete efi motor and 5-speed, plus the rare vacuum advance distributor for it that would let you ditch the efi for carbs (several sets of 32mm micunis available)

RWD Buick 3.8l v-6 with @70k on it. Comes with a lockup converter th350 but a 200r4 is available as well. I think I have a 4-barrel manifold for it too. RWD gm 2.8l v6 with @30k miles. Was a GM replacement engine installed in an Isuzu Trooper. Should have everything for the tbi system, or an edelbrock carb manifold and a NOS Holley economaster carb. Also have some magnesium Fiero valve covers and other dress up stuff. Several 4.3l v6s. Mostly s10, with flywheels and several manifold options. Even have a set of Howe dirt track cross over headers. 78-ish Chevy 350, with a th400 currently in a bread van chassis. Ran good, but has been sitting.

BMW k series 750cc motorcycle engine and transmission. Shaft drive, three cylinder, lays over on it's side. Why would this even be an option? Because as delivered a 1.1l Kadett weighs 1700# and has a 4.10 rear end. Yank out the cast iron engine and transmission, gut the interior, and drop in the shaft drive motorcycle setup for 1200# of fun. Similarly, Geo metro 3-cylinder with it's transmission or a Samurai one for RWD. Dohc swift gt engine available as well, but one con rod is sticking out the side. S10 2.2l and automatic, 94-ish. S10 2.5L with mt flywheel, 89-ish. Ford 351C. Ran good, don't know much about it. And many more options. Bring half a challenge budget and a weekend and I'll talk you into something.

Different circumstances, same sentiment.

So I am bringing this back up so I don't have to type as much.

Turns out that BMW engine is a K100, so @90hp in a sideways-4 configuration. In a Kadett that is double the 1.1 hp and almost the same as the 1.9, and at a fraction of the weight.

The metro and S10 2.5s are gone, but I have an 82 Jeep iron duke 2.5, with the SBC bolt pattern and a Chevy bolt pattern 2wd Chrysler 904 behind it I'd sell with a car project. A 904 behind an LS 4.8 would be light and quick...

It looks like I may have an empty trailer heading east from SD potentially as far as Boston the end of Feb. As long as it doesn't add more than a couple hours to the trip, delivery for almost anything could be arranged for essentially a tank of diesel and some $ for tolls if that sways anyone.

How much for the K100 engine? Do you have any engine management/wiring for it?

In reply to EvanB :

The K100 is actually a frame cut, no neck or forks, no tank, seat, or plastics, and the rear wheel and bevel gear are gone. Everything else is there, and when I picked it up the guy I bought it from actually started it on the pallet somehow.

It's been in my shop a long time though, so maybe $500 with purchase of a car or $650 without? If I just want to make $ I think I can do at least that well parting it out.

Adding another Opel to the yard is tempting. Is your route bringing you near Columbus, OH? (43228)

In reply to EvanB :

Probably on the way back, we're planning on picking up a motorcycle in Boston and a BMW in Indianapolis, but I'd rather not drag a car 3/4 of the trip if I didn't have to.

Good Lord. Is the red one basically a two door Vauxhall Viva? Brabham replica?! smiley
