It saddens me but I must part with my 900s. Neither of these cars have been in my possesion very long but I have many other projects that are more important so these need to go to someone else. My plan was to make one nice car out of two.
85 Turbo: The body is very nice and rust free. There are some dents and dings as you would expect as well as some slight damage to the left rear wheel arch. It has a water leak, which is why the previous owner (another board member) stripped the interior. Interior parts are all there it just needs to be put back together. The passenger side floor has a small rust spot that needs to be repaired. This is an otherwise very solid car. The wiring has the typical 85 insulation problem which I believe is why it does not run. It had no spark before I robbed the ignition control module. The previous owner had it running and said it drove great other than needing front wheel bearings and control arm bushings. Tires are in great shape.
88 SPG: I bought this car with the intention of using it as a donor car for the 85 since it doesnt have the biodegradable wiring insulation. I replaced the ignition control module with the one from the 85, repaired a fuel leak, and installed a new battery to get it running. I also replaced the heater control valve, thermostat, lower heater hose, and a couple other little coolant hoses. Engine and gearbox oil and coolant have been changed. I have been driving it to and from work for about a month. Does not like to idle until it has warmed up a bit. The exhaust was falling off so I fabbed up a ghetto fabulous side pipe from the turbo back. It is super loud but was cheap and keeps the exhaust outside the car. The tires are Falken Ziexs in really nice shape. Heat works great but only blows out the defrost vents. A/C compressor kicks on when you hit the switch but I don't know if it cools. Decent CD player with Aux input. The dash lights dont work. See pictures for rust. As you should expect, this car has typical C900 oil leaks.
I am asking $1600 OBO for both cars. Located in Louisville, KY. Email me at nsteinke1984@gmail.com if you are interested.
