For Sale:
One pair of original white leather seats from a 1983 Porsche 911, made by Recaro.
I bought these as cores for a Sport Seat conversion, but my plans have changed. The leather is pretty dry at this point and there is a split at a seam where the thread let loose that could be easily restitched. They'd make a nice upgrade for a car, pickup or Jeep.
EDIT for a price drop!
$200 for the pair. In Connecticut. Will not ship.

Just curious, I wonder if these things would fit in a Miata ,or are they too wide? The Miata community is always looking for seating alternatives.
Hmmmm...As luck would have it, I happen to have a seatless Miata in the same bay of the garage where these seats are currently located. Unfortunately, I won't be able to check it out until this weekend.
Let us know. I've seen a few 944s at the local pull-a-part places and always wondered if they would work. I'm also making the assumption that they are more comfortable than a stock Miata seat.
Judging by my ever-so-talented fat rolls, the Sport seats in my new 944 are a good 3-4" wider than the stock seats in my dearly departed Miata. Dunno about the "standard" seats though.
They are more comfy than a Miata seat. I have a black one as an office chair.

If they were Porsche Sport Seats, they wouldn't be for sale. Those aren't all that easy to find, even in Porsches. And the outside bolsters are usually shot.

That thought has definitely crossed my mind more than once. The mounting tabs on these seats are flat and square. It would be really easy to fabricate a simple mounting bracket for them.

Close but no cigar. They fit inside, but I wouldn't say that they actually fit.

Woody,
Are they too wide at the shoulder to slip past the seat belt tower?
They're too long and wide at the base.
