Those cars packed some good performance when new. Haven't seen one in the wild in over 20 years.
These things used to be EVERYWHERE and then one day they just weren't. I think it was around 1995 that they disappeared in the Willamette valley.
I remember being puzzled when they were everywhere that the rear end squatted so much ad the front sat really high on most of them. It was clearly broken, but it was at least 75% of them like that.
Underpowered, but RIDICULOUSLY light (~1900lb). I think it was C&D that pulled 1g+ on the skidpad with nothing more than 80's Hoosiers on one. They are vastly underrated and very well may be collectible 20 years from now. Can you tell that I love them? 
The rent a car office I worked at after high school had these, I thought they only came in beige. :) what was the hatchback called, they were bad too!
