This is not a power miter box. It is a full sized radial arm saw with all the versatility a radial arm saw offers.
Crosscut, rip, mould, sand, surface plane (with the right attachments). I don't have any attachments.
It is in excellent condition, it's even got the protective plastic wrap still on the arm and guides. No wear in the bearings, no weird motor noises, etc. I don't have a base- it has sat on my workbench.
I've used it very little over the years, and would now like to have the bench space. Most of my cutting is now done with a table saw, power miter box, or full sized panel saw.
$225
radial arms are hard to sell here. everyone uses a miter saw. they sure are handy when you need one though. i've got an old school dewalt one setup on a long table and i've got all kinds of stuff for it including 40 or 50 molding knives.
I had this discussion with my dad last month. Those chop saws took over but a good radial arm saw is priceless.
I got rid of mine for the same reason you are. They are big.

Ok, so now we know everyone who DOESN'T want a good radial arm saw...
...I'm looking for someone who DOES!
Keep at it.
When you find someone who relly knows how to use one (hint, they're NOTHING LIKE a mitre saw), they will appreciate it.
I've rebuilt a couple of the old DeWalt units for customers and one for the guy who used to be the sales rep for them up here on the westcoast of Canada.
He sold one to a school for the blind! Safest saw you can use. When your hand is on the carriage, you know exactly where that blade is, even if you can't see. Unlike table saws.
I watched him carve out a salad bowl with one once.

No question it can do much more than a miter saw.
Not so sure about the blind idea.
I don't want one either, but I redid a PowerKraft one that I got for free that I still have.
