Rx8 04-08 Manual Transmission 6 speed

I have for sale a manual transmission out of an S1 body style rx8. The vehicle had 50k and was running and driving fine until a fuel leak at the gas tank caught the car on fire. I was planning on using this in my rx7 but plans changed (found a BINIB 6 speed that was too good of a deal to pass up on) so this must go.

What you see is what you get, I can engage all of the gears, it includes the fork/throw out bearing/fork boot and shifter pedestal (not shown in photos). Output shaft seal will need to be replaced, it looks like it was damaged upon removal. It shifts fine, no 2nd gear syncro issues.

I am asking $500 but I am also willing to trade for a used set of matching 225/45/18 tires plus cash or if you want to take me on a date to belle tire (or wherever) and buy me a set of new 18" tires its yours.

I am driving down to asheville NC thursday from detroit and heading back tuesday, I can bring it along if someone is interested. 400 without shipping.

400 shipped sound more reasonable? any lower and I will just assemble a spare engine and mat it to this trans then say find something convertible and british to put it in. Or maybe sell the package deal for a challenge car.

Nobody wants it, might as well just put it in a MG right now.

I don't have an MG but the thought isis very tempting something rat rod and rotary would be a fun mix.

I wonder if the transmission would fit a Miata with a different bellhousing. It might be an easy 6 speed upgrade to a 5 speed if it would.
