I am selling my 1984 Benz. I have owned this car for ten years and driven it nearly daily. It has 305K miles. $2012.

Since I have had the car, I have replaced the shocks (KYB in the front, Gabriels in the rear), the brakes, the left front rotor, the water pump, the rear brake lines, the starter, the battery (two years ago was the last replacement), the rear half axle (pass. side, driver side rear half axle was replaced before I bought it), and I have replaced the fog lights and the rear exhaust section. The climate control panel is new as well, as is the monovalve.

The following needs attention: The brake wear sensors are no longer attached, the aftermarket CD player does not work anymore, but it does have a radio (I still have the original stereo with tape deck), the antannae was broken and needs to be replaced. The driver side rear rotor should be replaced, the rear driver side window motor is disconnected but works, but only lowers through the console switch, I jumped it to raise it and left it disconnected. There is a light "Hopping" in the front drivers side wheel, like a bearing or control arm bushing is out. There is an oil leak somewhere that needs attention. It also has rust in various places as seen in the photos, and some blistering has developed above the license plate area. The heat works great and the AC did too until the AC belt broke due to either a compressor failure or a compressor bearing failure. The AC system works and has no leaks, but wil need either a new compressor or new bearing for the pulley. The driver seat is work badly on the laft side. The other seats are in good shape, the first aid kit is there, and I added one of those wooden cupholders I bought several years ago.

I drive this car daily and hate to sell it. It has been a trusty companion for me for ten years. The property taxes on it are way low in my state and it always passes inspection. Circumstances have changed and I am needing to let it go. Kansas City area.

Nice car. I'd be all over that if it was closer.

I had a 79 240D at tone point. It was so slow to get going, but once it was at cruising speed it was smooth as silk.

Good luck with the sale.

Are there more photos? I can't see the rust.

I can tell you that these engines are really, really reliable if maintained. I just replaced the head gasket on my W124 300D. The cam and cylinder walls still show the machining marks!! It has over 290K on it.

I just love these machines and am tempted by them more and more. How can you not love a car that you can realistically put a million miles on? Properly maintained they can serve you for the rest of your life... and your kids lives... and their kids lives.....

It brings back memories of a time when not all machines were disposable. Ok, Ok, I'm sounding like the crotchety old man I am now....I'll stop

+1 that they are great cars, I drive a 300SD with way more miles than that car and it still runs great. You might get more interest if you mention which engine it has in the add (sorry if i missed it, but I didnt see it mentioned).

It has the engine that came with it, I can't remember which one honestly, but its one of the good ones. I can get the numbers if it helps, the 5 cylinder turbo diesel.

Thanks and still for sale and still driven daily, today included.
