Size on the track tires? How does the offset on the track wheels compare to that of, say, a Subaru Impreza/WRX?
Thanks.
i know that the 17" GTI wheels will fit a wrx but not an STI. I have no idea about the 15" or the 16" wheels. the 15" wheels will barely clear the 11.5" brakes in the GTI

If they are close to stock a WRX uses a +53mm offset.
The Golf should be around +38mm. So they would be out about 15mm.
I do know that WRX wheels will NOT go on a MkIV Golf, but you should be okay the other way.
15"s on a WRX - no way unless they are rally wheels made for that purpose.
thanks NGTD! I know the 15s are really close on the GTI so I doubt they'd clear a WRX. the tire size for the R888 is 205/50/15

Well I just happen to own both a MkIV Golf and a WRX, so I am glad to be able to provide some background on the questions.
so you know you want some extra wheels and tires :)
A word of caution, having tried VW wheels on a Subaru before.
Make sure the wheels use cone/tapered type lug nuts/bolts and not the spherical style ones. Otherwise, factor in buying new lug nuts to work with the wheels.

Sti are typically 5x114.4 so only the wrx 5x100 are open. The offset issue is significant as mentioned above.

You might want to check my profile for location. I doubt that it would be worth the cost of shipping. At this time of the year I'm looking for snows.

I have a whole box of lug studs I will happily throw in a complete set with the wheels :)
