I'm still thinking about a vintage laydown enduro kart. The last time I put this out there, all the frames were in the Daytona area and shipping was getting complicated.
Now I'm headed to Florida so, in theory, I could pick one up and deal with the packaging myself.
Anybody got one for sale?
The Ocala Gran Prix kart track causes that area of FL to have lots of kart stuff for sale. It might be worth a WTB ad in every one of the Ocala area online ad sites. A call to the track might work as well.
Thanks for the tip. Hope all is well.
Why laydown? So they can drop you and it in the coffin together
Sorry, but man those things hit wimp out button.
Are those frames still legal at IKF or WKA sanctioned events?

Please translate this into American for me.

To me lay down karts look super dangerouse. the joke was supposed to be based on the fact that as you are already laying down on the kart they can drop your remains complete with kart directly into the coffin together after the inevitable accident.
Sorry, no more death jokes
I got that part, but you lost me with the wimp out button.
I want one because a friend autocrossed one twenty years ago, and I've never been able to get it out of my head.
I'm not bound by IKF or WKA rules, just my own.
In reply to Woody:
I've autocrossed a sprint kart, and would never want to autocross a lay down kart. You have absolutely no perspective on the cones. And I may be wrong, but I don't think they are legal in any SCCA class.
If you really want to have autocross fun in a kart, get a sprint kart - A TAG or shifter kart. Or anything you can run in Formula 125. THAT IS FUN.
The only reason to go lay down enduro is for top end speed, which doesn't apply to an autocross, so I guess I don't get it.
In reply to bravenrace:
I appreciate the suggestions of TAG and shifter karts. I have autocrossed my friends kart (he refuses to sell it to me) so I understand the cone perspective. I am not bound by SCCA rules.
I understand that there are options out there that are cheaper and more plentiful, but a laydown is just what I want...

Things are going well. If you end up in the Gainesville area shoot me an email or give me a call and I will buy you a beer.
Thanks. If I get a little free time, I'll give you a call.
ekartingnews.com, in the classified section under chassis on page 3 is a vintage Coyote laydown enduro chassis in Delaware. I have no link magic or i would put the ad up for you, scared I'll break the interwebz! New England should be littered with these chassis because they ran a lot at Watkins Glen,Mid Ohio,Mosport ,etc. back in the late 70's thru the 80's.
Wow the link showed up all by itself! Thank you internet fairy!
Another couple on EKarting news popped up:

I think what he meant by "hits the wimp out button" is where Adrian hits the button and wimps out.
