Nader's book was not about the 2nd gen Corvair, just so we're clear.

I'm going to have to read his damned book. Someone said he only mentioned the Corvair in passing. Hard to believe he didn't focus on the VW Beetle, as many of them as were built.

He did talk about the beetle.

Dunno. I think the beetle sales peaked in the late 60's a few years after the book was written. Don't understand all the hate towards him. We drive safer, better cars because of him. Hell, everything we use and all the consumer protection laws exist because of him. Now if you think its cool to get fried by your toaster, keep on hating.
