I haven't heard from the guy selling the '36 Chevy, but if he comes though this trailer goes down the road.
It's made of 3" channel, the deck is 1/2" aluminum. It has 3500 lb. torsion axles and no brakes. 1 7/8 ball. Four pin connector. The fenders are bolted on to accomodate various weighted cars; unbolt and poke new ones for your car.
The deck is 6 ft. wide X 10 ft. long. The deck is 20 inches off the ground while the ramps carried on rollers below are 10 inches. The ramps are 2 X 10s with four hinged supports that fold down when you flip the ramp into place.
This is registered in NY as a homemade landscape trailer.
I'd like to see $1000 to finance the Challenger, but that's up to the market; you guys are cheap.
Whadda ya think?

Got an opinion?
Too goofy?
Deck too small?
Sprung too tight?
Too pricey?
I'm looking for opinions, not buyers.

i like the wheels - Crown vic/grand marquis? Only downfall I see is no provisions for sides to actually haul dirrt/mulch/gravel/bacon ...
...well the first 3 anyway

Looks extremely well built!
A little on the small side for me. Would probably work to haul our MG once its finished but I generally look for a trailer bigger than my current need to allow for picking up stray cars along the road.
For the quality of it the price seems good. I paid about the same for a 17ft home built that looks like it was welded by a blind epilieptic, but its big and strong. It was also much more "used" than yours appears so I think your pricing is good.
Would be a great trailer for someone who needed something smaller because they didnt have a large capacity on their tow vehicle or they knew they would not need to go after big cars.
That's what I needed. It is well built, it is new. I hauled a BMW 2002 55 miles on it. The only outing.

I'd swap the coupler on it Dan. To the best of my knowledge there are no 1 7/8 balls rated at over 2500 lbs, and 95% of them are only 2k lbs. Straight 2" coupler would at least allow for a ball with a 1" shank instead of the little 3/4" on the smaller ball. Some cops will look at the ratings on couplers if they're in the wrong mood, the same ones that would complain about the strength of the safety chain.
Also, with those tail lights I would be forced to pick up two 5" pieces of 4" ID 1/4" wall tubing (Steve has some at the Ace in Saratoga in the metal shop, and he'll cut it and notch out a hole for the plate light for you) to weld around the taillights as protection. I'd be breaking those lights every time I tried to back it somewhere.
Can the torsion arms on that axle be indexed to lower it? Might be worth turning them one notch and tossing on some low-profile tires to make it a bit lower if it's not difficult or expensive.
Aside from those things, it looks like a good little trailer. The green one I sold through here a couple years back was almost the same size, and it was built all out of scrap I picked up down in Albany and welded together there in Navy housing in Saratoga. I towed it through 26 states and over 25k miles before I sold it, and am about to build another like it because I miss it so much.
You can't adjust the angle of the torsion axle, you order the angle you want. I got the higher angle thinking it would give me more room to open the car door.
I had Vega lights on the back rail but blasted those off pulling a dead 2002 up the ramps. The ones there are not in jeopardy, my shin may be. I have since reworked the ramps so they won't slide around when loading.
I'll look at the coupler, I knew the ratings going into this, I may have misspoke on the size. I'll double check it before I post anything official.
Thanks for the tip.

3500lbs balls in 1 7/8 can be found easly. Convert-a-ball has them i think you can find 4200 if my brain recalls but it's easyer to swap out the coupler.
WOW found one..
