Now, I've seen a lot of hyped up ads, but... 1961 Corvair...Spanish Fly?
I bought that exact car when I was in high school. Woman down the street let me have it for $50 because the bolts on the shifter came loose and the stick flopped around. She assumed the worse and because I respect women and my elders I'm not talking her out of it.
I hit a puddle at speed once and the last thing I saw was two columns of water in the rear vier mirror. 
Buy it.
