I have a pair of 1980's vintage Recaro seats. The drivers seat is a Ideal C. I believe the passenger is a LX-C model. It has the same black cloth fabric but has manual controls. They currently have rails to fit a fox body Mustang. The foam is in good condition and seats are presentable enough as is. One of bolsters fabric is thin on the Ideal C and the upper back panel could does not have the same fabric as the rest of the seat. These are period correct seats for nearly all Mercedes, Porsche, BMW, Mustang, and Corvettes.
Very very cool seats. I must be getting old as when I saw vintage Recaro's I was expecting some 60's Porsche seats !

I agree. When I see the word vintage, I think of things that are older than me.
Those make me happy. My Dad bought our first set in 78 or 79 (to go in a Chevy van no less!) and I still have the Ideal C from our sleeper-built 83 Cutlass as my office chair.

I agree on the "older than me" part. If it wasn't from at least 1989, it ain't vintage!
1989! You whippersnapper.
I'd buy them if you were closer! I've been looking...
Oh man these would be incredible in the MX6.

If you closed your eyes do you think you could tell the difference?
Probably not, buy maybe they're lighter?
I really want one or a set of ideal C seats, but any that are priced cheap enough that I can afford there is no incentive for the seller to ship them with the high demand for them. And I'm not going to pay $3500 for a set of them like I saw on ebay once . I know they cost about twice that new, but still...
I will keep you all posted. I was supposed to get payment last night and am still waiting....
Hmmm. I just butchered a Recaro C seat (not the electric Ideal C) to see if I can make it fit a Miata. Maybe I'll see what the other one is worth before I do anything to it. I've got 3 sets of Recaros laying around.

If by chance they don't sell and you would be willing to ship just the drivers seat to California (probably by greyhound) id be interested. No big deal if not though, id need to get it recovered and I have seen ones the color I want already for $600 or so.
I ended up getting paid for them. A friend of mine is selling a number of these on eBay. He is in Wilmington, DE. I think his eBay name is mknmike.
