This is a USED two piece performance cat-back exhaust for a Mazda Miata. I removed it from my 1993 model (recently acquired from Josh). It bolts right on - no modification necessary. It provides a bit of extra horsepower at high revs. It's also LOUD. Fine for what's primarily a race car, which is what Josh was using the car for, but since 99% of my driving is on the street, I switched to a quiet stock equivalent exhaust.

This exhaust came in two versions - one for 1996-2005 models, with an O2 sensor bung behind the cat, and another for 1990-1995 models with no secondary O2 sensor. This is the 1996-2005 version. However, Josh took a dead O2 sensor and screwed it in, plugging the hole and enabling it to be used with the earlier cars. So you can leave the exhaust as-is for early models, or replace the dummy sensor with a functional one for later models.

It's a stainless steel exhaust. Between that, plus the fact that it has never seen the road in winter, there is no rust. It is a bit dirty. There is also a dent in the resonator, but it is not punctured. Asking $100, which is about what I paid for a new stock equivalent exhaust (and a GRM discount from what I posted it for on Craigslist). I'm just looking to break even on the deal.

If you don't want to keep the dead O2 sensor in there for some reason, you can probably pick up a plug for the bung at your local muffler shop. Just FYI.

I would be interested if you decide to ship.

Ha, yeah, I meant to get a proper plug for it, but the dead O2 was just sitting there in the toolbox, so I screwed it in. Given that it was hidden underneath the car, I promptly forgot about it. I think it could be made a lot quieter by cutting out that resonator and welding in the biggest Magnaflow 4" round can that will fit. I think part #10426 was the one I was going to use had I kept the car.

If you're wondering why the midpipe is black, I had a diff seal leak. Oops.

Yeah, I did say it was dirty. Thanks to Keith and Josh for the good info.

EvanB, where are you? I'll keep you in mind if it doesn't sell locally.

Hello if by any chance you still have this I am very interested and would be happy to pay shipping and a little for your trouble of having to ship it. I had one of these on my first Miata I sold, and now that I just got a second I miss it.

You'll need to log in to post.
