I've wanted to do a sand rail for on-road track work, basically lowering it and putting some rudimentary body panels on it to make it like a bigger VW Super Seven or primitive Atom.

Whenever I see chap sand rails I start thinking dangerous thoughts

Drop a chopped Bradley GT body over it.

I've had similar thoughts, but without the bodywork. But that rail in the OP looks kinda sketchy around the cage welds and looks like it needs a few more bars in a few places....

OTOH I passed a house with 2 rails and a baja bug out front for sale not 10 miles from my house....
