Out of all the wagovans, the Stanza had probably the best potential combined with the worst execution. My friend in college had one and it was just garbage.
i like that theres no pillar between the doors. probably a questionable structural choice but interesting none the less.

This guy has to be a GRMer. Look at the cars in the background. I spy a Saab turbo, a cool Chebbyban, and an AW11 Mr2.

Boy do I have good news for you, then!
my wife's first car was an 88 Stanza sedan. I hated that car. It was absolutely one of the most frustrating pieces of garbage to work on ever built.
Ahh yes, the little AWD wagon craze of the early 90's.
If I could find a Civic Wagon in that condition and color today...
All those functional people movers of 20+ years ago were largely overlooked resulting in poor sales.
Now that look is all the rage ala Scion xB, Soul, etc.
There used to be an 80's Stanza wagovan thing in my town when I was a kid. It was that late 80's Japanese car powder blue that 78% of Japanese cars wore back then. It ALWAYS had an aluminum ladder strapped to the roof. It was so damn goofy, but I miss seeing it around.
We also had one of those sweet Pulsars with the wagon cap thing. It ruled.
I briefly owned a 1985 FWD Civic Wagovan before I had my license. It was gold with the "tan, orange, and brown plaid couch that everyone had in the mid 80's" interior. I couldn't get a title for it so it got scrapped.

LOL
You forgot one, pinchvalve!
I had a baby blue '91 Civic 4wd, and it was positively awesome, but I still pine for the Tercel. Weird.

I had one, in that color. Fun car, with a 6(!) speed manual. It was more like a 5 - 1 speed, as the the sixth ratio was considerably lower than first. It was about as useless as tits on a bull. When it made a hole in the block, I swapped in a JDM ZC. I also had a blast plowing through 8-10" of snow, with snow tires.
I loved the stanza we blew up. Gsx 5 speed. Never seen one again. Lasyed 3 nights which is very long for a party car. my buddy did have a 2 door sentra hatch tho...

That is a sick Tercel! (Only on GRM will that sentence ever be uttered) My parents had an FWD version in that same color that they bought new a little before I was born in '85. We beat the mess outta that thing, and it just begged for more. Those were/are great cars!
