Lets say one of those LS truck based 6.0L falls out of the sky and lands in my garage. What would it really cost and what would I need to purchase to install it in a small sports car like an MG or a Triumph. I'm pretty sure I would opt for the 4 barrel setup with the companion ignition components you see for around a grand. Its the rest of the stuff I have no idea about. What oil pan? How much for a proper camshaft, bellhousing/flywheel/clutch? What other options besides the T56. I'm not worried about the fabrication stuff like headers, cooling system, driveshaft, etc. because that would be individual to the car of choice. Its just the bolt on stuff the UPS guy will need to bring me that baffles me. Basically I'm trying to talk myself out of buying a complete LS/T56 takeout. I'm concerned that once I buy that, I will still be in the same boat of buying things that fit to replace the things I just bought that don't. Plus, like the rest of you guys, I'm a cheapskate.

I sent a good article to Junkyard Dog a few years back from Hot Rod or Car Craft detailing how to use a classic four speed behind one. You could also adapt that to the MY6 (A833) for 1-2-3-OD as it's the same bellhousing as a muncie.

There are tons of options for carb/intake. I haven't done this, but search over at LS1tech. I like this thread:

Also there is an intake for dual quads which is tasty but not cheap.

If you get the whole take out, with the harness and ECU, why not just stick with the EFI set up?
