EvanB, good luck on finding a running rat Vespa under $1K that doesn't turn out to be a Viet-bodge. Seems like running P200s have bottomed out closer to $1500. I'd be tempted to find an old small frame with no engine, and install a newer drivetrain, but some of the guys I race with might kill me.

Yeah, if this one stayed at its current price levels I'd own it. Been looking for a Vespa to play with for awhile now.
It ended at $1,676. I've seen rats go for close to that.
The first motorized 2 wheeled vehicle I ever crashed was a red Allstate Cruisair that looks very similar to the Vespa. Might have been built by them but IDK. I considered buying one before I bought my 250 Yamaha. There's lots of gray beard scooter drivers in my locale. We don't worry so much about projecting a macho image.
The fact it's a "Grey Market" import from Hungary with no real papers (not hard to remedy) and only a 125 are why it went as "low" as it did. Actually, I consider the price to be a bit high, but it doesn't look horrible.
