Daughter informed me she wants a classic beetle with air, fuel injection and automatic. I believe that leaves the 75 superbug as the only option. I've scanned CL, ebay and BAT but so far found nothing. If you know of such a beast in a reasonable driving distance to ATL let me know.

You might try thesamba.com, but I'm not sure if you going to find all that in one car. It's also not really and automatic, you still have to shift. You should be able to add a/c to a car that didn't come with it. But a lot of the fuel injected cars have been swapped to carb over the years.

I'm no bug expert but I thought the 76+ were all converts??

I've only ever seen one truly automatic beetle and I can only assume the owner swapped a transaxle from a Type 3 because I've never found anything to support the idea that there was a factory configuration with an auto.

Also A/C is rarer than hen's teeth.

Finally DDing a classic bug isnt all its cracked up to be. My dad started doing it last year having the thoughts of how much "fun" it would be. He now cant wait for the BABE rally to end so he can take my $500 heap from the rally to drive for awhile instead.

I shall keep an eye out, but that is a pretty stiff order. I have seen maybe 2 clutchless shift bettles for sale in recent year or so, I try to aviod them hence the memory. I would really think long and hard about warming up to the idea of a manual, it will give you a metric ton more cars to choose from.

Air conditioning on Aircooled cars of that era is mediocre at best...

I'd look for an automatic and put a new aftermarket air conditioning kit on it.

How about you get her a New Beetle instead? It males a lot more sense in this application. The early ones are getting pretty cheap, but if you can put up with the maintenance/repair nightmares...

I've been to multiple car accidents involving New Beetles and I have decided that it is a car that I would be comfortable letting my daughter drive. They hold up very well in collisions.

Classic Beetle?...Nein, Danke.
