I have a "through the glass" model which I think came from radio shack. It's never been mounted, but it has collected a lot of dust. $20, shipped?

Mounting details?

The glass mount is a good last resort. I want to know if it's OK to mount to a gutter, trunk edge, drill a hole, bumper mount, maximum antenna heigth, or magnet?

In reply to CarKid1989:

It is a permanent mount with adhesive on both sides of the glass. I'll dig it out and look up the model number when I get out into the garage tonight.

Do people still use CB? I had one 15 years ago for road trips to out of state Solo comps. I'll dig around and see if I can find it.

Wilson has really good magnet mounts. The taller, the better. The through the glass works, but it doesn't do great. You also can't mount it over window heater wires.

I prefer permanent. Got an 8' on the F150 that works great. Its bolted to the bumper.

I've always had great luck with K40's.

Very few people use them - but the truckers still do. Great entertainment on a long road trip for listening, especially at night, when you get tired of listening to the radio
