Looking for a challenge cheap set of gears for a Ford 8.8 rear, ratio of at least 4.10 or higher up to 4.56. Thanks.

Might want to call some of the local mustang tuning shops and see if they have any used sets for cheap. That's how we got a set for the Wreck Racing miata.

I was looking for some 4.10's in the junkyard and it took 2 or 3 years of looking every time I went before I finally found a set.

Real common in the Explorers, Mountaineers, and whatever the Mazda version of that was. I picked up two complete LSD disc brake rear ends for a total of $225 last summer. Only problem is the Jeep guys are all looking for that rear end with that gearing. Almost a direct bolt in for them.

I got a set of new take-offs from the local Ford dealer $50.

Customer buys new truck, gets through a few tanks of gas, comes back to Ford and wants 3.08s or 3.27s, parts guy stockpiles the 3.55s and 4.10s.

If you can use 3.73's, there was a noise complaint in Exploders and they got swapped out faster then the tires exploding.
