I am looking for a 4-point harness. It can be expired, I am just going to use it for rallycross so it does not need to be certified.

I have an old, expired 5 point you can have for the cost of shipping if you want to add the sub attachment to your floor.

Can it be run without the sub belt? I'm not against adding the sub attachment but I still have the stock Miata seats.

I think any 5pt needs it else when you cinch the shoulder straps you risk pulling the lap belts off your hips where they can squash up your innards in an impact.

Well that certainly wouldn't be good. I'll take the harness though and save up for a real seat. PM sent.

Isn't that a risk with any 4pt belt system? That's why you cinch the lap belts down tight first, right?

How wides your hips? sit on bench bring two books in to sides of hips hold books get up measure between books.

Have a 15 or 16 alum 20deg alum Kirkey somewhere. I've got used belts too.

I'd rather not have an aluminum seat. The car will see plenty of street driving and bouncing around on the rallycross course so I want something a bit more comfortable.

No matter how tight you cinch them you can always yank them up away from where they are supposed to be with the shoulder straps. That is probably why most sanctioning bodies don't allow the 4 point belts. There are a few companies that make a DOT legal 4 point that claim they are safe but the easiest way to make sure is to have the 5th (or 6th) point tied to the floor.
