Hey guys I'm looking for a Quadrajet carb for the Olds. Yes I have checked my local yards but apparently there is some ol' boy that goes around and buys every single one of the damn things up. Had one lined up but the guy hasn't been responding so who knows. Looking for something cheap and rebuildable.
Also looking for any other bits and pieces ya'll might have that could be used for the Olds. HEI distributor, headers (Chevy 350 is the engine going in), the posi guts out of a late Camaro rear end (see my should I rebuild the 7.5 rear thread), heck if someone has a cheap injection setup I might be persuaded to go that way with it.
What other goodies are taking up space in ya'lls shops that you might want to get rid of? Let me know its my birthday soon so I wanna buy me some goodies for the car ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/evil-18.png)
I assume you're looking for a non-computer controlled QJet? I've got two computer controlled ones laying around, and I may have a rebuildable non-computer Qjet available, but I won't know for a few days (working on getting a holley for a project)
Yep you are correct on the non computer controlled ones are what I'm after. Let me know on your other when you find out.
Holy smokes are you telling me no one around here uses carbs anymore? ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/googly-18.png)
Or is it everyone is using carbs so they don't have them available?
I've got a few, I'll get model #'s on them this evening for you.
i have cheap TPI with the matching computer controlled HEI. megasquirt would be simple with it.
intake, runners, plenum, tb, injectors, distributor, off 91 corvette. dunno how cheap is cheap but i think 150 shipped is cheap. i shipped one to OR in june and fedex was $50
patgizz will that TPI mount to an older 350? The one that I'm using is from a '71 Camaro. I may take it either way as it looks like I will be building a challenge car! Any issues with the setup?
HoserRacing thanks let me know what you have, either post up here or shoot me an email. Thanks guys.
yes the corvette intakes retained the old school bolt pattern.
no issues, the car ran great and injectors worked fine, it passed emissions in july 09 with 105k miles i pulled it for a accel superram intake and holley 58mm throttle body. of course there is no wiring/computer because that is still in the car running it, but a TPI harness is simple to build and megasquirt loves it.
patgizz you take paypal for it?
Looks like I will have to look into a megasquirt now as well ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/crazy-18.png)
indeed to chevylumina@gmail.com
i will have to pack it up neatly and i have extra runner bolts that go with.
Ok, I've got 3 carbs, 1st one is from an '81 49 state automatic Chevrolet according to the code, 17081204, the 2nd is from a '75 49 state automatic Chevy, 7045214YB, and the last is from a '70 49 state automatic Buick. Special Challenge price, $50 for all 3 + shipping. I can send pics if you want.
Patgizz I'll shoot you the payment this afternoon.
HoserRacing go ahead and shoot me some pics at rebelgtp @ gmail.com and what shipping would be to 97850. Thanks.
patgizz money has been sent on the TPI.
i will do my best to get it on the way this weekend
