Looking to make the 75% dead e30 gauge cluster work again, and work reliably. So not looking for another e30 cluster since it'll just die again.
I'm looking for an aftermarket speedometer (3 3/8" or 4"), aftermarket tach (4"), and aftermarket water temp gauge (52mm or whatever's close). Not terribly concerned about brand, but would prefer VDO or Autometer. Not terribly concerned if they match, but "would prefer" that they do, lol. Really as long as they work is what matters most.
I need gauges with electrical signal, and ones that will either work or can be programmed to work using stock e30 signal wires. So, no mechanical ones.
I can buy a matching set of VDO stuff new from Summit for a bit over $200, so obviously I'm looking for stuff that you'd let go for less than that!
Anyhow, if you have any such gauges just sitting around collecting dust, let me know either here or send me an email.

took me a moment to block out the image (when I read that you WTB a speedo ) … then I read the rest of the post
Did you ever try changing the batteries? That solved all my problems.
I know....not that I really need one, but I drive the rallykar to events and this area has heavy speed enforcement. It gets tiring trying to remember what different RPMs in different gears equal in speed, lol

Yeah, they're pretty new. Various gauges just stopped working over the last year or so, usually after rallycrosses, lol. The gauges are just all shot from the pounding they take in rallycross. They're not exactly the most stout gauges in the world. The temp gauge works, but it's "wobby" and you have to tap it a few times to see where it is actually at. I'm just tired of messing with the stock cluster. All of my other VDO gauges (oil temp, oil pres, volts) take the same beating and still work perfectly...
Moot point anyhow, since the speedo in my cluster is missing most of its internals at this point (after several failed attempts at fixing it).
Plus I'd actually like a working odometer as well, so I can reference things like fuel consumption and such. And that would involve getting new gears for the stock piece.
figured people here may just have various old gauges sitting around.
If you have a smartphone, get a GPS speedometer app.

hit up the LeMons/ChumpCar boards .. with as many E30's racing, someone is bound to have an OEM cluster around
I would add NASA, spec E30 board…. and entire group with nothing but E30's ….

That's what I use in the Mini since the odometer is wonky (seems to measure about 10% farther than actually traveled, although the speedo is fairly accurate by Smiths' standards - weird) and the gas gauge doesn't really work.
When I rewire the car, it'll get new gauges.

I'm actually one of the few who doesn't have a smartphone (nor plans to get one). I can't bring a phone into work, and I have a home phone, so I have the most basic of cellphones that rarely gets used. Smartphone is a waste of money for me, honestly.
