I’m changing up the turbo set up on my challenge car. I’m looking for a 50 trim T3 turbo off an older Saab, Volvo, etc. 5 bolt exhaust flange would be nice since I already have a wastegate. I’d also take a 60 trim off a turbo ford motor or Nissan. Heck, I’d even take a T3/T4 if you could provide me the specs (housing AR’s, wheel trim, etc) and its dirt cheap or comes with a set of rods for a Miata 1.6L.
I have a T3 60 trim from a Ford, .63 a/r hotside, has some banged up turbine blades but if you have another with a stock stg1 wheel it can be swapped. $50 shipped maybe even less.
Is the turbine housing in good shape? I just want to make sure that when the wheel got banged up the housing didn’t get messed up too. Compressor wheel and housing are is still in good shape right? If so i'll take it.
From what I remember it is. The turbine housing bolts were loose when it was shipped to me and that's when contact occured (from what I could tell at least).
I'll shoot you some pics when I unpack it.
That doesn't sound too bad. If the housing does look pretty bad then it just gives me an excuse to swap it out for a .48
