Since my car is apparently not going to sell, I need to upgrade the safety gear. Currently it has an MK1 VW Rabbit Autopower roll bar in it adapted to fit an MK2 Golf. As a long shot, does anyone have an MK2 roll bar that they'd like to trade for an MK1? Prefer to pickup rather than ship and I'm willing to do the driving. I'd being willing to buy a bar for the right price too.
By adapted I mean there is a piece of metal welded onto the foot plates of the downbars that tie to the wheel wells. I think it could be cut or gound off and still leave a solid mounting point. I also have full cage pieces to throw in. Pics on request. I'm in Western NC.

Will it still fit in an MK1?
I might be interested in buying, but I have no MK2 roll bar to trade.
If SVrex doesn't buy it I would certainly be interested in hearing a price as I am about 20 miles away and have a Mk1 that could use a roll bar.

I'm not interested in selling it until I have a replacement located. It makes a great harness bar and seat support right now.
I am speculating that its for an MK1 since that's what kind of car the PO had before building this one and it doesn't fit like an MK2 bar should, but its close. The only modifications are the "spacers" welded to the original feet.
