I am getting more and more into the idea of flipping my Alfa for a Miata, so I figured I'd offer it here on GRM as a trade....I absolutely love this car but I want to put something together for HPDEs and the Alfa is just not that car. I figure FMV for this car is somewhere between $4-6k, and I can put cash on top, trade straight up, or accept your extra cash depending on what the car is. I would really like a 94-95 Miata but would consider any 90-00 car, or the right MR2, maybe even a Boxster...
Basic problems are a few dings and dents, minor rust, the power window switch is a bit flaky, and the car needs door panels and a few other interior odds & ends. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this thing across the country as it sits, though. Full details below.
Below is the text of my craigslist ad:
1989 Alfa Romeo Spider Quadrifoglio Verde (top-of-the-line model). Black with black/grey interior. Meticulously maintained; engine does not leak or consume any fluids like many other Alfas. Just over 100k miles but you wouldn't know by how strong it runs. Not a show-winner but an excellent driver; recent new convertible top, professionally reupholstered seats, upgraded alternator and electrical system, tune-up, all new engine hoses, new heater core and blower motor, upgraded stereo, and much more. Upgraded to full polyurethane bushings, Koni yellow adjustable shocks and Vick springs. Conversion to '71 split headers and full exhaust makes a beautiful sound. Runs and looks fantastic. Excellent autocross car. Only needs some minor interior work to be 100%, which I will finish over the wintertime if the car does not sell.
