What it. That motor is a great base for a build. There were / are some café type kits available for it rear sets and all.

Yamaha's mistakes are usually brilliant but misunderstood, or a decade ahead of their time. This is neither of those .
Handle bars won't fix fork angle, or the tank or the king and queen seat. I personally view choppers and hazardous. If you ride, use the right gear and ride a bike capable of handling, breaking and accelerating out of trouble. Otherwise, make sure you have good life insurance and have signed your organs over and have a clear end of life document.
Yup. Total junk bike. Can't fix anything on it. The owner of this yellow thing might already be dead.
In reply to Appleseed:are you really going to compare my comment to your ride? There's hardly any of the original bike left. Much more than just a handle bar mod. Jeez

When I was 15 we all were swapping the motors off our YSRs for 125 or 250s. Looking back we were all nuts...

No, that bike was from the interwebs illustrating that such a bike has potential. Changing the bars will completely change the feel on many an old bike. I took issue with the chopper comment. That Yamaha hardly qualifies as a chopper. My bike, a 1980 Honda CM200T, would be a chopper based on looks. It isn't. Clubman bars changed it for the better.
Stock, it looks like a chopper, right?
