NMNA:

Says $2200, but probably <$2016

I can see this gutted, caged and slammed sporting a small block and 4 slicks.

The jag dohc 6 is way too sweet to replace with a crapy us v8. These cars were 4dr e types. You could race them out of the box. Buy it cheap and get it on the road for 2016. You'll have the coolest car there.

I don't know Jag engines, but possibly more than the seller; he calls it a v8 diesel.

Do you know of performance mods and/or what 4 speed can be bolted up?

Please don't stuff some gm powertrain or trans in this. A jag 5 speed or modifying to outboard brakes, ok. But the jag bits ate stout and beautiful.

I would hate to race one of those. A friend had one at his repair shop and they are big.

Yeah, but they did very well on tracks in the 60s. They really are big, 4 dr e types.

I've seen plenty of Mk lls getting rung out, but none of these.

Why not stick a V12 in? It is about 30 pounds lighter and can easily make 4-500 horsepower with a lot more torque.. Believe it or not it is narrower and a tiny bit shorter..

The later (up to 1987) 4.2 has a fuel injected engine with bigger valves and bigger ports.. (the head etc. is a direct bolt on) the easiest 4 speed is the Jaguar 4 speed but likely to be a bit on the expensive side.. Aftermarket Chevy small block bell housing is easily adapted which means you can bolt on any junkyard gearbox such as Saginaw/Muncie/T5 etc.. You will need to do a little measuring to ensure things are set depth wise but not horribly complex.

There are aftermarket flywheels or you can adapt one from a manual gearbox Jaguar..

To get better suspension Brakes /steering you can use the suspension from a XJ6/12, XJS and lower the car at the same time..

You'll need to log in to post.
