On facebook in Sharpsburg MD. I'm on my phone so I can't link it but it's rusty and apart but complete. Not a bike to flip but a cheap rider. Probably an 883. Guy doesn't know anything about it but it does have a title.

1984 wasn't a great year for those things.

Yeah. Hard year for parts and still AMF, I think.

I don't know much about Harley's, but I DO know that bike is from the era where if there's an engine problem it is better to rebuild the whole thing than attempt an actual "fix". An old friend of mine had a 79' he got from his older step brother for ~$200 and learned that the hard way.

why can't you just drop in a 'junkyard' harley engine that runs?

I think i'd still rather just have a universal japanese motorcycle though.

Early or late 84?

Late is the suck because they moved the alternator to behind the clutch.

Early is good, still has generator and the new style starter.

I think the Sportster was still an iron head in 84.

My 79 mistake was AMF junk and the shifter and rear brake were opposite to every other bike I've ridden, which is quite a few.  Tried to down shift, hit the rear brake and almost killed myself.

I think 1975 was the year they were all supposed to be tranny on the left and brake on the right.  I think.
