2 great Challenge candidates- You’ve still got time.

With the change to the Challenge rules this year (no drags, 2 big auto crosses), I’ve got 2 great candidates, and you’ve still got time to complete them. 

They are both in storage, and a little hard to get pics, but I’ll start with a basic description. If anyone is serious, I will work harder at getting the pics and more details. 

Car #1- 1984 VW GTI. This car has a 2.0L ABA 16V engine. Plenty of power. Paint is faded, rear seat missing, door cards shabby.  This car could be returned to the street with some effort on the interior, or an awesome weekend warrior. Includes a beautiful set of fender flares/ spoiler, and the parts (fenders/ grill) to convert to round headlights.  Also includes a truckload of parts. I will have to do the digging to give a good inventory of the parts, but there is enough to zero out the car.  Very fast- this car is a hoot! $2018

Car #2- 1st gen MR2- Very clean rust free car. Complete. It’s an autotragic, but includes a 2nd supercharged engine with a 6- speed manual. Easy swap out. Paint is faded. Interior is not bad. $1500. 

Both cars are located in Lexington SC 29072. 

I know you want more info. I’m just trying to see if anyone is interested before digging through all the stuff. 

With 2 big autocrosses this year and no drags, these cars are both perfect candidates for Challenge glory!!

Here’s a couple pics of the GTI

Those pictures are a few years old, when I had it at the Challenge. It was much cleaner then, and wearing different wheels, but in basically the same condition. 

I would love the GTi.

It was the car I wanted to build when I could finally afford to have a project again. I got distracted and bought a Suzuki turbo car and the rest is history.

I'm gonna have to pass on the GTI.  I really want it but my travel requirements and the cost of shipping are conspiring against me.    Guangzhou china here I come!..
