Given that it's parked at his moms house you could probably wave only a hundo or two in the air and she'd point a gun at his head and tell him to sell it.

Sliders, with no pillar between them and the hinged front doors. Maybe some of the strangest things you've seen on an automobile. Very cool cars though. If $200 would buy it I think I would do it.
Dear God Run. My wife had an '88 Stanza that is the sole reason I will never own another Nissan product. It was the worst car to wrench on I've ever experienced.

I find that interesting, because my 86.5 hardbody is the easiest thing I own to wrench on.

They really are an odd duck. Side impact and rollover protection had to be horrible.
Stanza tallwagons. Proving time and time again that Nissan didn't wait til the murano convertible to be weird.
I owned a 4WD one of these when I was in high school in 1998. We sold it due to due to frame rust...it was repairable, but bad enough that it wouldn't pass NYS annual safety inspection. The body looked pretty much mint at the time. Mine also had the nice alloy rims...which made a huge difference in appearance.
I loved it, my friends loved it. It revved really smoothly (8 spark plugs!) and the shifting had a long throw with a satisfying "snick snick" as you shifted. I still remember how the vinyl/cloth smelled. It did lean a bit and was a little bouncy. Definitely a strange car with the sliding doors.
A clever Russian managed to take one to multiple class C wins in Lemons by turbocharging it. Sadly he got a little too enthusiastic with a sawzall when trying to fit in a bigger intercooler and made it no longer Lemons legal. I was going to get to drive it, too! Instead we drove a Sentra which was also a blast.
