Even though these are aweful cars, I'd hate to mod it. The thing is almost museum quality. I hope it goes to a real mopar nut. It's been an easy 20 years since I saw one in that condition. Maybe since I saw one at all.
When my Grandfather became too frail to drive he gave me one of those in 96. Same white with red and an auto and I used it to get me too and from College after I got out of the Army. It always started and I never had to do anything to it. Not the greatest car by any stretch but I smile whenever I see remembering my Grandpa.
I would hate for anyone to be mislead. Take a closer look at it. The doors are rusting, and it looks like a fluff job. Be very careful.
I was trying to help someone find a home for one of these about 4-years ago. It was in nice condition - not concurs/museum quality, but had minimal wear and was well-maintained. It had 58k on it and the general consensus was that it was still a $700 car.
I say strip it and swap in one of the turbo motors. I helped a guy bolt together a 400 hp version of the dodge turbo. 2.2 l if I remember and that was with late 90s technology.
Holly torque stead batman was that thing fun.
At one point we put 12 inch slicks on it and boy did it hook. It was a completely crazy machine. Never really tried making it go around corners. It was built for a quarter mile at a time.
