well written ad

Ad states there was a brief engine fire. You can tell the owner loved the car.

Wasn't there another XJ-S, black with the same fire issues about two months ago?

Perfect coffee table donor.

I don't have the room for an entire car, but I've been poking around CL for a 12 Cylinder block to use as a coffee table and wine rack for the new apartment. Realized that it was cheaper just to buy a whole car and keep what I need. A VERY slippery slope.

Same fire that happened to my '88. Wasn't all that costly to fix, and not to difficult DIY. Getting the bonnet repainted (bubbled up) was the worst part. His fire sounds like it was not quite as bad as mine.

Of course, it is still a XJS after you fix it, so you have to go in with your eyes open.

Has anyone ever put out a good LSx kit for these? I know John's Cars is the place to go for SBC and BBC swaps.

In reply to psteav:

Now THAT would be a game changer! A plug and play LSx/4L60E swap kit would kick tons of ass!
