This actually seems like a pretty good deal, I wonder what the deal is with the transmission?  Could it be a simple as bleeding the hydraulics and changing the trans fluid or would it be legitimately bad synchros (3?)

Might be a fun car to daily and play at autocrossing.....

The line lock suggests strongly to me that this car has had a hard life... But I have the same question about the trans. Relatedly, what trans do these use?

The 5 speed is a Mazda M5R2.  I had trouble finding a usable one 20 years ago when I put a 5 speed in my '91 5.0L Thunderbird.  Maybe they're more plentiful now...  I think the internals are the same as the similar M5R2 used in F150s around that time.  The shifters are in different locations.

I like the idea of supercoupes strictly because of the third pedal and a center console with a hole in it. After that its a 5.0 coyote and a 6 speed from a stang for a great GT car.
