So, mine. I'm the second owner. Car is completely rust free. You can remove anything with a 3/8 drive ratchet. 185k, 2002 subaru legacy 2.5 gt wagon. Automatic. All service records since 99k when I bought it.
In the last 15k, new tires, headlights, struts, brake rotors and pads, stereo, drivers seat rebuilt, 19mm rear sway bar and bushings, headlight housings, filters, etc.
Ready to go.
It's got some scuffs and scratches, as well as some parking lot rash. Bad tint job. Torn drivers cv boot on the front. Occasional p0420 code for cats (cats were replaced with walker units and the car doesn't like them). Slight steering wheel vibration if you breathe on the brakes at 65+ (been chasing it since I bought it and cannot find the culprit ). Leaks about 1/2 quart of oil per 5k oil change (mobil1 synthetic and Wix filters).
Car is absolutely rock solid driver. I just suffer from automotive add, as well as a brutal amount of daily mileage, so I got a new daily.
Car comes with a spare interior, stock rear sway bar, extra plugs, etc. Factory service manual as well.
Located 40 miles east of Charlotte NC. 2500 obo. Clean title in my name.
I'd rather it goes to one of you guys for cheaper than what it would bring on Craigslist.
Call me/respond here. Number is 828-260-1254.
Fly and drive encouraged. Will pick you up at the airport and give you a place to stay for the night.
Pictures in next post.
I'm an idiot and posted in the wrong thread!
Sorry & good luck w/sale!
Dang, that looks pretty clean. And dirt cheap. Do I need a subaru?
Yes. Yes you do. Especially one as reliable as gravity with all the service records. And one that has never seen salt. Charlotte NC all its life.
And I'll even detail it and remove the crappy tint if you want.
I'm trying to convince myself... It's not working though. Unless you want to trade for a BMW e28, or partial trade for a motorcycle and cash...
Nah. Can't do a bike or e28 that's from the rust belt.
If you do convince yourself, I'll meet you in Richmond Virginia.
I will need this in November, have the head gaskets been done recently?
They were done at 95k according to the previous owner. Saw evidence, so I believe him. Slight weeping of oil now, but nothing that has changed in the last 40k. This is the sohc 2.5, which doesn't have the catastrophic failure problems of the earlier dohc 2.5. The slight leaks on this are coming from the crank seal (I think ), and slight dampness on passenger side head gasket.
Nothing I would be, or am, concerned about. Heck, I've done 125 miles in 100 degree heat today in this car, and wouldn't hesitate to drive it to Ohio tonight without looking at anything or even checking fluids.
The e28 surprisingly really doesn't have rust. The paint is bad and there are dings all over, but the body is actually pretty solid.
Here's the for sale link if you want to know more:
Black Betty
I'm suprised that none of you rust belt guys want to pick it up as a flipper. 2k if I don't do anything but change the oil and clean it out so you have more profit margin.

Perfect for a friend of mrs. dx who is looking for a first car for their kid but located in PA so a fly and drive would be in order. Hmmm....
Meet you in Richmond Virginia weekend after next. My wife was planning on visiting family, and taking her car so I have a ride home....
Would that be the weekend of the 23rd?
Amazing deal, how is this thing not sold already??
Yes. Weekend of the 23rd.
I will run it by them tonight. I won't be able to make it down to a prior engagement but my friend might be able to do it. I'll keep you posted.
In reply to 92dxman:
Call me at 828-260-1254 to discuss specifics. That way I know which price/details of the transaction.

My friend picked up a car yesterday so they aren't looking for wheels anymore.
Ok. No problem. Someone else from the forum called me earlier...

Don't think it didn't cross my mind....
Well, if none of you want it by the end of the week, I'll get it all cleaned up and ready to go and on Craigslist this weekend. From what I've seen in the local area, I'm underpriced even down here.
Sold to a random Guy at the parts store.
