I've dreampt of xjr6 swapping it.

BTW, it's close to me and judging by the other cars in the photos I would get along with this person well. If anyone wants me to go take a look...

I've always thought a Mk2 was one of the prettiest cars ever, inside and out. 

Could not agree more, but unfortunately that is just the pretty body shell. The cost to add all chrome, paint and that amazing leather and wood dash would eliminate this as a consideration for me. Yes, you could drop in an LSx and such, but it would just be the old body shell. I agree with Robbie about installing the drivetrain from a later XJ6  but it is the interior restoration costs that scare me off, the body shell is tool stripped.
