Hard to say. I'm having trouble find any for sale right now to judge value against this asking price.
According to Wiki, the 1976 model year had the largest production numbers at 3179 built (under 8K through two series from '74 to '82), although the majority were spiders. Only 900 coupes were made in '76.
My first thought was, when our fox chassis Lemons racer gets crashed we can swap what is left to this body and have a RWD Scorpion. Maybe if I offer $200 then sell the unneeded parts to more than break even it would be worth considering.
Anybody need a Lancia motor?

Lancia Scorpions are already RWD.
I knew that, but was temporarily confused by the awesome photography.
Wheels may be aluminum 13x8 according to wiki, and should fit my fiat. If someone buys this, I'm interested in some parts.

Buy it and swap in a Honda fwd 4 or 6! It would be a rallyx monster!

I don't know... the Wiki description was pretty damning... weak engine, poor handling, and rust-prone (of course).

Googling says 13 x 5.5, I think they would look good on an X1/9.
If only I had the time to part out cars.

If wiki HP/weight is correct (81/2200 lbs), then same-year mgbs would run away from it in a straight line...
A Lancia Montecarlo (Scorpion in the US) is a pretty cool car. Hagerty's has a "fair" condition #4 car at $8,400 and a top #1 car at $19,300, so this #5 parts car has to be worth much more than $650, and we all know it probably can be had for less if you show up with cash.....
Again, glad it is far away from me. I would have a lot of fun with that project. The original design prototype had a 3 liter V6, agree that the smogged 1.8 Fiat/Lancia motor sucked, but you could easily make more today or engine swap it with this low of a buy-in price.
They were originally called the X1/20 and were designed to replace the X1/9 in Fiat's lineup. The twin cam engine is basically the same as in the Fiat Spider, so there is some interchangeability. Years ago I had a buddy with a turbo charged version built I believe in Florida. His was seriously fast for it's day, and more than a match for a then current 308 Ferrari. They handle arguably better than a X1/9, which already pretty stellar.
I did see one once with an Alfa V6 swapped in the back. It sounded great. If they had ever built that as a production car I would have owned one long ago.
